OVERVIEW:
This position offers the opportunity to work in a full-service communications department for an award-winning master-planned community. The Communications Support Coordinator’s responsibility is to assist the department, manage resident information, and maintain the community's website and other communication platforms. The ideal candidate is highly organized and deadline oriented. This position is scheduled for 20 hours per week.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the work of the communications team
- Assist with management of communications calendar and project tracking
- Help with the coordination of incoming and outgoing projects and content requests
- Based on the candidate’s experience, this position may also support the team by providing assistance with writing, graphics, etc.
Manage resident information on communication platforms
- Approve website accounts and process text message sign-ups
- Process new residents and remove residents who have moved out
- Update information (email, phone, mailing address, etc.) as needed
Maintain website and other communication platforms
- Maintain website, including updating content; uploading documents, agendas, and images; and updating, creating, and posting web pages and forms.
- Provide login assistance to residents
- Assist with management of other communication platforms, including Mailchimp and Engage by Cell (user lists, templates, etc.)
- Upload videos to Vimeo (video hosting platform) and post on website
KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES NEEDED:
- Clear and effective writing skills using proper grammar and punctuation
- Proficiency in AP writing style a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience in Wordpress a plus, but not required
- Naturally initiative-taking, self-motivated and self-managed
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and follow-up with requests in an efficient and timely fashion
- Works well under pressure and balance multiple priorities and assignments to meet deadlines
- Fanatical about attention to detail and consistency
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Four-year degree in communications, journalism, English, or related field
- Two to three years of experience working in a professional office setting
