Project Lead - Communications Strategy
Location: Hybrid - requires two (2) days in the office at 7700 Arlington Blvd, Falls Church, VA
Start Date: Mid July
Insignia Federal Group is seeking a Project Lead, to lead a team of communication specialists, with an ability to understand the project’s scope, client’s needs, and team dynamics while employing best practices to develop communication strategies and plans that align with the client’s goals. An ideal candidate will have a strong communication strategy background along with a demonstrated ability to effectively manage teams and projects.
In this role, the successful candidate will:
· Develop an effective relationship with the client, understanding their priorities
· Develop communication strategies and plans that align with client goals, applying best practices to deliver effective engagement and creative solutions
· Lead and collaborate with a team of communication specialists to deliver engaging and timely products
· Leverage team expertise to execute project plans
· Manage and track several projects, knowing the current status of deliverables
· Identify ways to improve and streamline group processes
· Engage in routine quality checks on team communication products, ensuring they adhere with client expectations and organizational standards
· Adhere to organizational and journalistic best practices when it comes to written products
· Develop and sustain relationships with subject matter experts to understand evolving organizational priorities and stakeholder interests that impact content
· Provide team structure and outline clear expectations to manage projects
· Organize and adapt to meet both team and client needs
· Display effective and strong collaboration skills
Required Qualifications:
· Ability to successfully undergo a background investigation that requires U.S. citizenship
· College degree in journalism, digital media, public relations, or another communications-related field
· 4+ years of professional experience in developing communication strategies and producing various digital communication products ideally for a marketing/production agency or major news organization, government organization or advocacy group
· Project management experience is preferred
· Ability to create content in an apolitical, risk-averse public affairs climate is necessary
· Ability to translate complex and technical topics to a broader audience
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment successfully managing multiple projects and able to shift priorities as required
· Ability to understand organizational audiences and develop effective communication
· Deadline- and detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
· Interest, knowledge, or background in the military and/or medical field is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
