MP/TV ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY INTERN opportunity (Los Angeles - online)
Thank you for your interest in an internship in the area of SCREENWRITING at Motion Picture Industry Institute (Mpii.org). Mpii internships are for enterprising and reliable aspiring professionals who are serious about preparing themselves for a meaningful career in the entertainment industry.
This 10 week online internship is designed to be an ideal introduction to the role of the professional screenwriter in the motion picture and television industry,
It will help future professional screenwriters to learn the most effective career-launch strategies, build the right relationships, and earn those all-important references for navigating the challenges of launching a meaningful career via such stages as the writer’s assistant and other related assistant roles for entry-level employment.
While most interns are typically enrolled in or a recent graduate of a graduate screenwriting program, it is not a requirement of the program.
This part-time, online program uses a flex-schedule where interns are able to set their own hours (day, night, and/or weekend). It requires a commitment of a minimum of 12 hours per week.
Motion Picture Industry Institute (MPii) is the leading industry organization researching and improving industry best practices for working professionals in the motion picture and television industry.
This internship requires no specific prior training or experience, other than the ability to read and write fluently in English language. All necessary training is provided during the course of the internship. And current college enrollment is not required (see below).
This internship program includes best in the industry ‘how to’ training and support from MPii, including best practices strategies for launching and furthering successful careers in the motion picture/television industry, as well as a potential placement with a host production company that specializes in Academy and Emmy Award-winning story development.
Intern duties include reading and analyzing story materials (for example, screenplays, treatments, outlines, books, plays, articles, etc.), as well as research historical, technological and character background information for stories in development, and researching story marketplace information, such as studio, networks, and publishing companies mandates.

Hours: Set your own schedule, part-time weekdays, evenings and/or weekends (minimum of 12 per week).
Pay: substantial training, experience and college credit available, but not required. Because MPii is a nonprofit research organization, you can qualify for this internship if you have already graduated or are otherwise not currently enrolled).
Location: This position will be remote/online, so you can work from anywhere, provided you have reliable access to the internet.
