UPMC Corporate Marketing is hiring a Producer to join our Digital Content and Production team! This role will primarily work 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM but can vary based on shooting scheduling needs. The position has some work from home flexibility based on scheduling needs.
Successful candidates will help conceptualize, shoot, produce and edit a variety of videos to support the UPMC digital and clinical marketing teams. Candidate will play a key role on the production team taking on a variety of duties including lighting and sound. Experience in digital cameras (RED and Sony) a plus, studio and remote audio, studio and on-location lighting, editing, and digital server operations. Candidate will work closely with other team members.
The ideal candidate will be not only an accomplished video journalist but a producer who has created videos for online and mobile platforms using strong technical video experience for production and post production work. Candidates should also have strong writing skills to help tell the digital story. This individual must, through example, persuasion, and coordination of multiple stakeholders, develop and deliver powerful media to educate and increase awareness and digital engagement among members, prospects, media, and staff. In addition, individual will also be available to produce and administer turnkey projects presently outsourced to outside vendors and advertising agencies. Responsibilities: - Coordinate and implement start-to-finish creative process for videos, performing all production roles: Create storyboards for review with appropriate team, Coordinate shoots in-studio and on-location, Write and develop scripts, Shoot video using appropriate camera, Determine and oversee proper lighting and arrange for studio sessions if necessary, Ensure proper monitoring of audio during interviews, Book and direct voice talent as needed, Work with Marketing Communications staff to obtain archival footage when necessary to supplement stories, Edit videos using professional editing software, Manipulate and develop graphic animations to fit visual story as needed, Deliver final video via agreed upon platform, Provide support to teams to ensure maximum distribution internally and externally
- Mentor and train staff in best video production practices to further enhance UPMC media creation capacity
- Participate in meetings with multiple teams to assess video production needs, propose and coordinate story ideas, discuss status and direct production schedules
- Look for ways to increase and improve quality and efficiencies, including new equipment and technology, and process improvement
- Perform all production roles: Create scripts and storyboards for review with appropriate team / Coordinate shoots both in-studio and on-location / Shoot video using appropriate camera and Supervise and Director additional camera operators for multi-camera shoots / Determine and oversee proper lighting schemes / Ensure proper monitoring of audio during interviews / Book and direct voice talent as needed / Work with Marketing Communications staff to obtain archival footage when necessary to supplement stories / Edit videos using professional editing software (Adobe Premiere preferred) / Manipulate and develop graphic animations to fit visual story as needed / Deliver final video via agreed upon platform and timeline
- Develop, maintain, effectively communicate, and direct production schedule
- Work with Marketing Communications to ensure that videos properly utilize UPMC graphics packaging
- Maintain and effectively communicate production schedule with internal stakeholders and project management teams
- Operate in high-pressure situations and manage multiple projects while continuing to complete projects on time with a fast turnaround
- Work independently and under leadership's supervision, create and develop videos to enhance overall awareness of UPMC stories/products/services, boost online presence, increase traffic, and promote positive communications outcomes
- When necessary, coordinate and shoot any supplemental material that might be required by agency or other resources
- Work closely with Clinical Marketing, Enterprises, International Marketing, Integrated Marketing, Media Relations and Internal Communications staff to support story development and conceptualize video content.
- BA/BS in Communications or similar field and six years of experience with multimedia video production, visual storytelling, written communications and marketing communications OR ten years of experience with multimedia video production, visual storytelling, written communications and marketing communications
- Ability to take strategic marketing communication objectives and create effective tactically effective video communication pieces
- Strong video production skills required, including videography, lighting, interviewing, creative writing, script development, audio post production, editing, and color correction
- Proficiency using professional editing software, Avid, Adobe Premier, Final Cut Pro or similar; as well as post production software,e.g.
- Adobe After Effects and Experience with web technologies for effective use and distribution of videos required (Wisita, YouTube, Vimeo)
- Knowledge of storyboarding, and cultivated eye for layout, style, color selection, motion graphics, audio, music, etc.
- Ability to work tight deadlines and balance multiple tasks
- Health care knowledge preferred
- Executive communication and presentation skills required
- Must have strong interpersonal and computer skills
- Must be a problem solver and work well independently and in a team environment
