This position is responsible for assisting the video department in shooting and editing video of practices, games, and player workouts for coaches. This position will be responsible for maintaining the video library and assisting with special coaching projects as needed.
The ideal candidate would be a recent graduate, with extensive experience working directly with a college football team performing many of the same job functions.
**This is a full-time, paid internship for one year with option to extend to second year.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Video all Steeler football games and practices during Training Camp, Preseason, Regular season, Post season, Mini camps and Organized team activities (OTA’s).
- Edit all video as required for NFL season, Practices, and College games.
- Create breakdown (cutups) reels for all in season weekly opponents and NFL draft preparation for college.
- Responsible for setup of cameras on Game day.
- Responsible for setup and maintaining of the meeting rooms in training camp, and during the season at Steeler facility, including Video screens, projectors, and computers.
- Managing and overseeing on Game Day Still shot (coaching still video system).
- Importing Pro and College games on the NFL CGE Network.
- Working closely with Coaches and Scouts to assist them with any video and computer needs.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, preferred areas of study include videography, digital media, sports management, radio/television, and film
- Minimum of two years in an established video program at the college level, including videotaping practice and games as well as editing and creating cutups for Coaches and Players.
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of Professional broadcast equipment including cameras, studio equipment, audio and computers.
- Must have a good working knowledge of computers and computer networks for trouble shooting, including Windows and Apple products.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Must have a thorough working knowledge of Video editing software especially Catapult Thunder Software
- Must have good communication skills.
- Must be able to make rational and logical decisions under pressure.
- Must be able to adapt to changing situations and conditions on a daily basis.
- Must be willing to work non traditional schedule, including weekends and holidays
