Technical Writer/Editor Sr Advisor

HOW TECHNICAL WRITER/EDITOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Edits narrative and graphic products to identify and correct grammatical formatting and logic errors and identifies logical inconsistencies.

Applies a variety of word processing, spreadsheet, and graphics tools.

Reviews and edits complex material for punctuation, grammar, and content, compile inputs/corrections, resolve incompatible comments, and provide final publishable documentation.

Identifies and modifies complex contextual errors, reorganizes content, and edits graphics, tables, and illustrations.

Work closely with Solutions Architects and Subject Matter Experts and operations staff to write and/or edit technical requirements as required.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
-
Writing Skills - Strong writing skills, including the ability to write clearly, concisely and effectively, in a variety of styles (e.g., descriptive, narrative, etc.) and formats (e.g., Associated Press (AP), American Psychological Association (APA), Chicago Manual of Style (CMS), etc.), for audiences of varied levels of knowledge and presentation requirements (e.g., C-Suite, executives, technical staff, etc.).

Technical Writing: Technical writing knowledge and experience, and be able to create technical documents and templates, such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Knowledge Bases (KBs), that are written commensurate with target audience(s).

Business Writing - Knowledge of and experience with writing and proofing business-specific documents, such as Request for Proposals (RFPs) and Statements of Work (SOWs), that may have multiple and varied purposes (e.g., persuasive; concise and informative; multi-faceted; etc.).

Presentation Skills - Knowledge of and experience with creating visually appealing and engaging presentations designed to convey complex ideas in a simple, easy-to-understand formats and flows.

Editing and Proofreading Skills - Perform detailed editing and proofing of various document types, to ensure materials are error-free and consistently written (e.g., spelling, grammar, narrative consistency, etc.).

Proven capability to edit, write, and/or rewrite technical articles, publications, presentations, and other materials to communicate clearly and effectively on research findings, technical developments, and other information to a wide range of external audiences.

Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar

Demonstrates the ability to learn and adapt quickly.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (advanced PowerPoint and Visio skills)

10+ years of related experience.

BS/BA in English, Journalism, or Communications preferred. Additional 4 years of relevant experience can be substituted for a degree.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. The security clearance for this program requires the selected candidate to have resided in the US for the past five years.

The likely salary range for this position is $106,371 - $122,327. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
