Marketing Specialist
The goal is to gradually achieve superior customer engagement and awareness of the Dog Tired brand.
This job will be part time. Visits on site will be required to know and understand the business. This is an Independent Contractor Position, so no benefits will be provided.
$1200/month for an estimated 20 hours a week.
Job Requirements
Knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, Google, etc. and other as assigned. Marketing specialists should have a solid understanding of how each social media channel works and how to optimize content so that it is engaging on those channels. You are responsible for joining relevant conversations on behalf of Dog Tired “soft selling” our services by providing support to current and prospective customers.
- Create of 1-2 newsletters a month on the Constant Contact Platform
- Attend pet friendly or networking events (sometimes evenings and weekends) as required
- Basic Website knowledge a plus, but not required for updating monthly content
- Creative with fresh content, ideas, and specials
- Must be able to provide 48 hour turnaround sometimes when necessary, but most is pre-planned the month & quarter ahead
- Order and create marketing supplies from various vendors as necessary.
- Graphic Design experience with Canva or Adobe Illustrator is required for soft ads, flyers, brochures, and other items assigned.
Job Expectations/Duties:
- Build and execute social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification
- Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action
- Set up and optimize company pages within each platform to increase the visibility of each of entities’ social content.
- Create event calendars on Facebook and our website.
- Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information.
- Collaborate with other departments to manage reputation, identify key players and coordinate actions/messaging/content/promotions.
- Review and update content and seasonal and monthly updates through Word Press
- Ability to create marketing production for items such as promotional flyers and business cards for print, creating Facebook Banners and thumbnails, and edits to existing marketing and promotional brochures, flyers, etc. Experience with CANVA, ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR or some sort of professional marketing software. * We have our own Canva account for your use.
- Monitor all reviews and questions on customer sites such as Google, Facebook, and Yelp. Regularly work with the management team and owner to script and ensure responses are timely and personalized.
- Maintains all customer information in an email marketing system and shared drive.
- Craft engaging collateral and emails to engage community partners in marketing program participation.
- Use email marketing using programs, such as Constant Contact and others.
- High-touch, super-friendly customer service via email and phone.
- Manage marketing programs from start to finish including: overseeing timelines, budgets, creative development, shipping, and print logistics.
- Grow client relationships and client lists.
- Assists in sales support/research.
- BS/BA Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Journalism or related field.
- Proven working experience in social media marketing or as a digital media specialist and newsletters.
- Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills.
- Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge.
- Basic knowledge of web design & web development/editing.
- Knowledge of online marketing and good understanding of major marketing channels.
- Positive attitude, detail and customer oriented with good multitasking and organizational ability.
- Excellent computer skills inclusive of Microsoft Office, Adobe, Publisher and digital data programs.
- Detail-oriented and deadline focused with an intense attention to detail both in project-based requirements as well as digital shelf content.
- Demonstrated integrity and a creative approach to challenges.
- Ability to operate independently given direction, and bring ideas and solutions to issues raised.
- Strong project planning, tracking and organizing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and deliver multiple activities and assignments simultaneously.
