Job Title: Receptionist - Long Island Radio
Cox Media Group is looking for a proactive, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented individual to serve as Receptionist for our tight-knit broadcast family at Long Island. The candidate will be responsible for courteously and accurately receiving and directing all incoming calls, greeting and assisting visitors. They will also handle a variety of administrative tasks that include, but is not limited to, coordination of our Internship Program and recruitment efforts, and assisting Promotions with event planning and promotional giveaways. This is a full-time position.
This person must be able to work with a variety of personalities and handle all interactions professionally. The ideal candidate will be incredibly organized and effective in prioritizing, while demonstrating sound judgement. This individual will also be influential in shaping company culture and creating an environment that fosters inclusion and collaboration. You must be workplace culture-focused, bringing enthusiasm to the office and proactive in developing ideas and initiatives.
This position is considered on-site essential.
- Handling a variety of administrative tasks during morning reception hours
- Courteously and accurately receiving all incoming calls
- Greeting and assisting incoming visitors
- Attending career fairs and assisting with recruiting for internship/talent bank
- Coordinating Internship program
- Assisting marketing and promotions with event planning and promotional giveaways
- Managing listener/winner phone calls to collect information
- Creating picture galleries from events for our websites
- Post community events on our websites
- Assisting sales with daily spot times and reporting
- Work on additional projects, as requested
- 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma
- 1-2 years of customer service or relevant experience preferred
- Basic computer knowledge and use of Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook
- People oriented, friendly, dependable with the ability to adjust to different environments and situations, be proactive, approachable, and helpful
- Have knowledge of Cox Media Group's stations, its formats, basic station info
- Strong interviewing skills and ability to decipher talent
The wage scale for this position is $17.33 per hour to $17.33 per hour. Final compensation for this role will be determined by a variety of factors such as skills, certifications, and relevant work experience.
