Position:
Be unapologetically you while learning from a whip-smart creative team that loves helping writers grow. Get firsthand experience contributing to projects of all kinds for clients in various industries, potentially including health care, education, energy, and more. Work alongside other writers and designers to hone and develop your copywriting skills while assisting with content for websites, blogs, videos, or whatever else we need to help the agency and its clients accomplish marketing goals.
Reports to: Associate Creative Director
Position Type: Part-time; hourly paid internship
Expected Hours of Work: Monday – Friday, Flexible schedule equivalent to 20 hours/wk. as agreed with management
Internship Duration:12 weeks/240 hrs. from May 20, 2024 – Aug 9, 2024 (approx. dates)
Degree Track: Must be a registered student or recent grad working towards a degree in communications, marketing, advertising, English, or a similar field.
Essential Job Functions:
- Works with senior writer/associate creative director/creative director to learn more about copywriting and write original copy.
- Works with the creative department to brainstorm ideas for interactive/web, print, broadcast, direct mail, outdoor, digital, and other forms of promotion for the agency and its clients.
- Assists/observes production for radio and TV commercials, as well as web video projects.
- Works to match the criteria and goals set forth in creative briefs.
- Researches clients’ products, services, and competitors to ensure ability to write compelling, accurate, and persuasive copy for assigned projects.
- Archives and maintains all files in accordance with creative team standards.
- Participates in meetings and presentations as appropriate.
- Participate in intern cohort team project
Skills & Experience:
- Recent or in-progress bachelor’s degree in English, communications, journalism, advertising, or related major
- Curiosity, willingness to make mistakes, and a propensity for finding bold solutions—on a deadline
- Collaborative spirit and a willingness to iterate on an idea to get it to its best form
- Ability to present ideas, problem-solve, and deliver timely results
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities
Work Environment:
This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, digital cameras, and scanners.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time.
Travel:
Travel may be limited for client meetings or other agency activities.
